The Joy of Printmaking – Studying Abroad and Seeing the World 2025-05-24

Hosted by Pui Ching Middle School and sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the Pui Ching Middle School Printmaking Exhibition, The Joy of Printmaking – Studying Abroad and Seeing the World, held its opening ceremony on May 21 at the Tap Seac Youth Activity and Exhibition Center.

 

The exhibition showcases the works of students of the Pui Ching Printmaking Club. The artworks are the result of the students’ study tour to Taipei and Tokyo between 2023 and 2024, bearing witness to their endeavors outside the classroom.

 

The exhibition features 35 pieces of artwork created by 28 students, including copperplate and water-based woodblock prints. In addition, ceramic artworks created in Taipei and Tokyo are also on display.

 

The exhibition runs from now to June 1 and is open from 12 PM to 8 PM (closed on Mondays). The venue features presentations on copperplate and woodblock printing, display areas for original prints, and an area for students to exchange ideas on printmaking. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

 

Pui Ching students excel in Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2025-05-18

The 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF 2025) was held in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Pui Ching students achieved remarkable results.

 

The competition gathers talents from around the world. Two teams of contestants from Pui Ching qualified for the event through inter-school competitions. Grade 11 and Grade 12 students Pun Chi Kin and Leong Pok Hei entered for the competition with their “Fast-Charging Black Phosphorus Electrode Lithium-Ion Battery”, and Grade 12 student Choi Chi Hang participated in the competition with his “Smart Acanthaster Robot for Gastrointestinal Retention Therapy”.

Job vacancies at Pui Ching Middle School (Horta e Costa Campus)2025-01-14

To optimize teaching and learning, we are now recruiting for various positions for the 2025-2026 academic year, including primary and secondary school teachers across all subjects, teachers for extended preschool and primary school programs, laboratory managers, and support staff. Candidates should demonstrate passion for teaching, hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in a related field, demonstrate strong work ethics and a positive mentality, have good communication and language skills, and be able to work well in a team. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience, higher academic qualifications, or experience guiding students in international or regional competitions.Specific requirements are as follows:

Primary School Teachers:

  1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, a teaching qualification in primary education, and a strong academic record; teaching experience or higher qualifications are preferred.
  2. Teachers of Chinese must be fluent in Mandarin.
  3. Teachers of English must be fluent in English and possess good written and spoken communication skills in English.
  4. Teachers of Mathematics should have strong logical reasoning and programming skills. Familiarity with Python and C++ is preferred.
  5. Teachers of Integrated Studies should have good programming skills and innovative thinking abilities. Candidates should be ready to embrace challenges. Familiarity with Python and C++ is preferred.

 Secondary School Teachers:

  1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree; preference will be given to those with a master's or doctoral degree.
  2. Teachers of Chinese must be fluent in Mandarin.
  3. Teachers of English must be fluent in English and possess good written and spoken communication skills in English. Candidates who have taught IELTS-related courses or scored 8 or above on IELTS are preferred.
  4. Teachers of Mathematics and AI Mathematics should have strong logical reasoning and programming skills. Preference is given to candidates who are able to teach programming-related subjects, guide students in research projects, or are familiar with Python and C++.
  5. Teachers of Business Studies should have a background in Economics, Business, Statistics, etc. Preference is given to candidates with good spoken and written English skills, quantitative analysis skills, and experience with mathematical or economic modeling. 
  6. Teachers of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology should possess strong logical reasoning and programming skills. Preference is given to candidates who are able to guide students in research projects and the publication of research papers.
  7. Teachers of Design and Science should possess innovative thinking abilities and be ready to embrace challenges. Fluency in English, experience in designing middle school Design and Science (STEAM) curricula, and the ability to provide training to students in after-school STEAM programs are preferred.  Priority is given to candidates who are able to guide students in innovative research projects and those who possess experience in the development of lesson plans, syllabi, and assessment systems for STEAM curricula.
  8. Teachers of Information Technology should have innovative thinking abilities and be ready to embrace challenges. Familiarity with Python and C++ and the ability to conduct programming courses for all grades are required. Preference is given to candidates who are able to train students for international competitions and those who can provide guidance to students in innovative research projects.

Teachers of Extended Preschool and Primary School Programs:

  1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree; those with qualifications in primary education or early childhood education are preferred.
  2. Fluency in Mandarin or English is required. Preference is given to candidates who are able to conduct activities related to conversational English, art, programming, or other topics.
  3. Candidates should be caring, passionate about teaching, and able to address individual differences among young students. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong work ethics and a positive mentality, be able to work well in a team, and exhibit reliability, diligence, and resilience in their work.

Laboratory Managers:

  1. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field; a master's or doctoral degree is preferred.
  2. Familiarity with laboratory operations and management is required. Candidates should be able to independently manage laboratory work.
  3. Candidates should be able to work well in a team, possess good communication skills and analytical skills, and demonstrate reliability, diligence, and resilience in their work.
  4. Candidates should be aware of current trends in technology, be independent learners, and be committed to ongoing improvement of their work.
  5. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant laboratory management certifications.

Support Staff:

  1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree; those with a master's or doctoral degree are preferred.
  2. Candidates must be fluent in Mandarin and English and possess good written and spoken communication skills in English. Preference will be given to candidates who can handle English documentation.
  3. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong work ethics and a positive mentality, be able to work well in a team, and exhibit reliability, diligence, and resilience in their work.
  4. Candidates should be aware of current trends in education, be independent learners, and be committed to ongoing improvement of their work.

Pui Ching Middle School (Horta e Costa Campus) will hold an enrollment information session for prospective Primary 1 and Junior 1 students on Saturday, January 18, at 11:30am. For the 2025/2026 academic year, our Horta e Costa Campus will enroll 42 new students for Primary 1 and Junior 1 respectively. The information session will introduce both the primary and secondary school curricula at the Horta e Costa Campus.
