Pui Ching students win championship in Macao Junior Table Tennis Team Tournament 2020-09-30

The Macao Junior Table Tennis Team Tournament was held today.  Pui Ching Middle School played Yuet Wah College.  S3B student Fok Chin Chong quickly entered the game with a 2:0 lead, but was unable to keep it up.  Yuet Wah reversed the game and won the first round by 3:2.  Fortunately, the subsequent key players Hoi Hou Hang and Chan Hin In came through with flying colors, winning the next round by 3:0, leading the game by 2:1.  Hoi Hou Hang began the following round with a 2:0 lead which turned into a 2:2 tie but eventually won the match point at 11:9, with a final score of 3:1.  After five years, Pui Ching again won the championship in the Junior Table Tennis Team Tournament. 

Students clinch five championships in Macao Youth and Children’s Fencing Tournament2020-09-30

The Pui Ching Fencing Team participated in the 2020 Macao Youth and Children’s Fencing Tournament last weekend.  The tournament was the first fencing competition after the Covid-19 outbreak.  The young fencers were both nervous and excited to be competing again.  Award-winners were as follows:

 

Men’s U16 Foil:

Champion: Lao Sap Tou (Senior 2B)

Second runners-up: Choi Ik Tong (Senior 2C), Chou Pok Iong (Senior 1A)

 

Men’s U16 Epee:

Champion: Tai Wang Chon (Senior 1E)

Second runners-up: Tin Chi Kit (Senior 2C), Tam Cheok Long (Senior 1A)

 

Men’s U16 Saber:

Champion: Che Chou Kit (Junior 3E)

First runner-up: Tsang Cheng Hei (Junior 3E)

 

Women’s U16 Epee:

Second runner-up: Cheong Chi Tong (Senior 1B)

 

Women’s U16 Foil:

Second runner-up: Pou Hei Tong (Junior 1C)

 

Women’s U12 Foil:

Champion: Tou Weng Tong (Junior 1A)

First runner-up: Lam Chi U (Primary 6A)

The finals of the Macao Junior Table Tennis Singles Competition were held tonight.  Pui Ching Junior 3A student Ieong Man Cheng won the championship.

The International Festival of Engineering, Science, and Technology (I-FEST) is open to student contestants aged 14 to 24.  This year, over 1500 contestants from more than 45 countries participated in the event.

 

Six students from Pui Ching entered for the online competition in two teams this year.  Both teams clinched a place in the top ten and eventually proceeded to win the Gold Award.  Sin Ka Chon, Mok Chi Kin and Lao Chit designed the Multifunctional Intelligent Autonomous Underwater Vehicle; and Lei In Hei, Leong Chi Kio, and Ng Chan In designed the Self-Supporting Robot for the Elderly.  Both teams were invited to share their research outcomes on the live broadcast platform of I-FEST.

Students win second place in world ranking in National VEX Robotics Competition2020-09-01

The students’ passion for learning did not diminish during the pandemic, and world-class competitions continue to offer platforms for our youths to showcase their talent.  The Pui Ching FRC and VEX Robotics Teams attended the National VEX Robotics Competition from August 17th to 27th.  The competition this year was held online and consisted of the preliminary competition, the rematch, and the finals.  Teachers and students devoted themselves to the preparation during the summer vacation and excelled in the competition.  Student Group A of the Senior High Category (including Chan Wai Chong, Ieong Chio Kit, Ip Wai Hin, Cheok Chi Him, Lam Chi Io, and Mio Man Hei) won the second place in world ranking in the Robot Skills Challenge.  Student Group B of the Senior High Category (including Tang I Choi, Ieong Hou Kan, Hong Wang Lok, Tou Chi Ieng, Lei Cheng U, Leong Nga Chi, and Ian Chi Hin) won the ninth place in world ranking.  Our students in the Junior High Category (including Chan Hou Fai, Wong Chi Pang, Lei Pak Kio, Wu Man Hei, and Lei Wa Lok) won the twentieth place in world ranking.  Congratulations to our award-winners!
