Students win Soong Ching Ling Children’s Invention Gold Award2019-08-30

The 15th Soong Ching Ling Children’s Invention Award Contest was held from August 15th to 20th, attracting 38 teams of contestants from China and overseas. Out of the 3,117 inventions that were entered into the contest, 270 inventions and 100 artificial intelligence programs entered the finals. Contestants from Pui Ching won awards as follows:

Students win Gold Award in International Conference of Young Social Scientists2019-08-26

The 2nd International Conference of Young Social Scientists (ICYSS) hosted by Indonesia, Turkey, Serbia, among other countries, was held from August 20th to 26th in Belgrade, Serbia. Six of our students attended the conference with their instructor Mr. Li Dong and reported on their respective research topics. S5C students Chan Iat Meng and U Chon In’s research on “The relationship between gambling cognition and gambling intention in Macau teenagers” won the Gold Award (the highest award) and the Best Poster Presentation Award in the Category of Sociology. S4D students Lo Ka Ieng and Chan Hou Chai’s “Correlational research between smartphone addiction and physical and mental health in Macao adolescents” won the Bronze Award and the Best Poster Presentation Award in the Category of Sociology. S4D students Ma Ieng Hei and Lou Kin Long’s “Empirical research on the influence of self-efficacy and environmental perception on Macao high school students’ entrepreneurial intention” won the Best Presentation Award.

The 5th Macao Outstanding Youth Election hosted by the Macao Christian Youth Association held its awards ceremony this afternoon in MGM. Seven out of the ten award winners were Pui Ching students:

Students win championship in World Robot Olympiad 2019-08-07

The 2019 World Robot Olympiad was held in Denmark. 140 teams from 34 countries gathered in Aarhus from August 2nd to 4th. Pui Ching was the only team from Macau invited to the competition. Primary 3 student Chan Seong Lai and Primary 4 students Wu Nok Ian and Wu Iat Long entered for the WeDo Innovation Challenge. Primary 5 students Chio Lok Man and Fong Chi Weng entered for the WeDo Regular Challenge. After three days of intense competition, Chan Seong Lai, Wu Nok Ian and Wu Iat Long won the championship in the WeDo Innovation Challenge. This is the second time they won the competition. Many congratulations to our contestants!
