Students excel in 10th World Mathematics Team Championship2019-11-28

The awards ceremony of the 10th World Mathematics Team Championship was held in Beijing on November 24. Pui Ching students competed with contestants from Asia, Europe, North America and Australia and excelled in the competition. Award winners are as follows:

Students win various championships in Paper Plane Competition2019-11-25

The 5th Cross-Strait cum Great Bay Area & 9th Macao Inter-School Paper Plane Competition was hosted by the Macau Innovation and Inventions Association and was held yesterday afternoon in the stadium of the Macau Polytechnic Institute. Pui Ching students came through with flying colors. Award winners are as follows:
Longest Flying Time Group Championship (Secondary School): Leong Sio Kuan, Cheong In Meng, Wong Wa Fong
Longest Flying Time Group Second Prize (Secondary School): Choi Chi Chon, Chan Chi Weng, Lam Chi Io

Students win Group Championship in International Mathematical Olympiad2019-11-25

A total of 38 Pui Ching students from Primary 4 to 6 attended the 6th Malaysia International Mathematical Olympiad from November 22nd to 26th. Contestants from 13 countries such as Australia, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Vietnam received invitations to the event. Pui Ching Primary 6 students Lei Si In, Lam Pak Hong, Si I Hin and Lao Kin Nam won the Gold Award and the Second Place as a group.
In the individual competitions, Primary 4 students Chan Seong Lai and Ho In Lok, and Primary 6 students Lei Si In, Lam Pak Hong and Lei Wang Hei won the Individual Gold Award. Primary 4 students Si I Gong, Mak Chon Hei and Leong Lok Hei, Primary 5 students Ng Iek Hin and Leong Cheng Lok, and Primary 6 students Si I Hin, Lao Kin Nam and Chan Pak U won the Individual Silver Award. Primary 4 students Cheng Hou Chon, Lam Ian Cheng, Ng Hao Him and Lo Tin Iat, Primary 5 students Ma Hang Nam, Tsang Wai Pan, Tang Hei Tong and Lei Tek Long, and Primary 6 students Un Cheok Weng, Tou Weng Tong, Ng U Hin and Un Hou Chit won the Individual Bronze Award.
School anniversary and Alumni Day celebration a success2019-11-23

The Pui Ching 130th Anniversary and Alumni Day celebration was held at 7:30 this evening in the Fisherman’s Wharf Convention and Exhibition Center. The celebration hosted nearly 2,000 guests, including the Chief Executive of Macau Dr. Chui Sai On, Vice-Chairman of the National Political Consultative Conference Mr. Ho Hau Wah, Deputy Director of the China Liaison Office of Macau Mr. Luo Yong Gang, Special Commissioner of the Foreign Affairs Office Ms. Shen Pei Li, Director of Political Affairs of the Macau Garrison of the People’s Liberation Army Mr. Dou Guo Jie, Director of the Bureau of Societal and Cultural Affairs Mr. Tam Chon Weng, representatives of the Pui Ching Alumni Association from different parts of the world, various representatives in the field of education, alumni of the school, and teachers and students. Dr. Chui Sai On and Mr. Ho Hau Wah served as the officiating guests in the birthday cake cutting ceremony.
During the dinner, alumni from different parts of the world and students took turns performing for the guests. Alumni in the music industry wrote the song “Utmost goodness, utmost righteousness”for the school anniversary. The Secondary School Dance Team performed the Tibetan dance “The beat of the heart”, which illustrated the people’s love for their city and country. The school’s Jazz Orchestra also played various popular songs for the audience. Everyone had school publications and souvenirs to take home for the night.
Principal Kou Kam Fai expressed that Pui Ching’s success cannot be separated from the hard work and perseverance of our predecessors. Our accomplishments today are the work of generations of teachers, students and alumni. The 130th anniversary celebration of the school not only brought together alumni from different walks of life and talents in different fields of society, but it also gave us the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the school over its 130 years of history.
The school hosted a series of events in commemoration of its 130th anniversary, including the water sports meet, academic conferences, the poster exhibition, class observations, thanksgiving worship, game booths, the issuance of anniversary publications and remembrance envelopes, and the celebration dinner. The events would not have been possible without the hard work of every member of the school. Many thanks to everyone who helped make the anniversary a success!
Honorary members of board of directors and students receive recognition by S.A.R. government2019-11-22

The Macao S.A.R. government awarded medals of honor and certificates of merit on November 22nd to outstanding individuals who were recognized for their personal accomplishments, social contributions, and service to Macao. Medals of honor are conferred to individuals and entities who have made significant contributions to the image, reputation or development of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Honorary Member of the Board of Directors of Pui Ching Mr. Lio Chak Wan received the Medalhas de honra de Lótus de Ouro, and Honorary Member of the Board of Directors Mr. Chan Chak Mou received the Medalhas de honra de Lótus de Prata.
Award-winning students in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), in the National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, and student inventers who were awarded for their Phoroptor for Student Myopia all received certificates of merit for their outstanding achievements. Award-winners at the ISEF included Lei Hei I and Fong Su (Instructor: Man Hou Nin) and Fong Chon Hei, Hoi Hoi Ian, and Leong Weng I (Instructors: Io Hio Fai, Leong Ieng Ieng). Award-winners for the Phoroptor for Student Myopia included Mok Hoi Chon and Wong Hou Wang (Instructor: Kou Weng Si). Lao Chio Long was the award-winner in the National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition (Instructor: Lao Kun Wa). The student inventors received heartfelt congratulations from Principal Kou and our school directors at the awards ceremony.
