The opening ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Women's Interschool Volleyball Invitational Tournament was held this morning.  The event was organized by Macao Pui Ching Middle School in commemoration of the 135^th anniversary of the founding of Pui Ching Middle School. 

Four teams competed in eight intense matches yesterday and Shenzhen Buji Middle School emerged as the champion. Vice-Principal Kuok Keng Man and President of the Pui Ching Sports Association Mr. Chan Tek Fei presented the championship trophy and medals. The ranking of the teams is as follows:

Champion: Shenzhen Buji Middle School

First runner-up: Macao Pui Ching Middle School

Second runner-up: Shunde No.1 Middle School of Foshan

Fourth place winner: Shun Tak Fraternal Association Cheng Yu Tung Secondary School of Hong Kong

Best Server: Ren Yanxin (Shenzhen Buji Middle School)

Best Spiker: Lam Kai Yu (Shun Tak Fraternal Association Cheng Yu Tung Secondary School of Hong Kong)

Most Valuable Player: Ding Xinyi (Shenzhen Buji Middle School)

Most Popular Player: Lam Lok Si (Macao Pui Ching Middle School)

The Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Center held the awards ceremony on July 1 for the 4^th Macao Secondary School Python Problem Solving Competition.  Pui Ching students Lei In Iat and Lam Iok Cheong won the championship.  Their instructor was Ms. Lam Sao Lan.

The competition attracted contestants from a total of 23 schools.  It required participants to write programs in Python to solve real-life problems, such as automating the retrieval of statistical data published online and analyzing and visualizing data through chart generation.

The competition was conducted in teams of two, and the preliminary round consisted of a knowledge-based test. The top 10 contestants were selected to compete in the final round, which was held in the form of a computer-based test and consisted of problems in four different categories. After three hours of intense competition, our students emerged as the champions. Congratulations to our award winners!

The Pui Ching Secondary School Fencing Team participated in the 2024 European Baltic Fencing Championships from June 23 to 26 and won various awards.

Senior high student Neng Weng U won the third place and the championship in the Women’s Epee Individual and Team Competitions respectively.  During their trip, our fencing team visited the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, where they were received by Ambassador Tang Song Gen. The team also visited the University of Latvia and made a trip to Estonia, where they had the opportunity to meet with former world champions and receive guidance from them.

The Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Education Tour was organized by the Chinese Association of Automation, co-organized by the Macau Education and Youth Development Bureau, and co-sponsored by the Macao Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.  The event was held on June 25 at Macao Pui Ching Middle School.

During the event, Macao Pui Ching Middle School was designated as a demonstration school for AI core literacy assessment (AICE), marking an important step forward in the school’s efforts to promote science and AI education.
