Students win team championship and 9 grand championships in Inter-School Fencing Competition 2024-10-04

The 13th Macao Inter-School Fencing Competition was held from September 28 to 29.  Fencers from both our Horta e Costa Campus and Coloane Campus participated in the event.  Young fencers helped each other and demonstrated excellent team spirit during the competition. In the end, they won the team championship, 9 grand championships in both the men’s and women’s categories, and 52 individual awards.  Congratulations to our award winners!

Water Sports Competition held in celebration of 135th anniversary of Pui Ching Middle School2024-09-22

Hosted by Macao Pui Ching Middle School and organized by the Macao Swimming Association, the Pui Ching Water Sports Competition was held in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 25th anniversary of the handover of Macao to mainland China, and the 135th anniversary of Pui Ching Middle School.  The competition will take place on September 22 at 2:15 PM at the Olympic Sports Center in Taipa.

Guangzhou Pui Ching Middle School, Hong Kong Pui Ching Middle School, and Hong Kong Pui Ching Primary School have been invited to compete.  The competition involved a total of 120 participants. The competition was held in seven categories, including the alumni category and men’s and women’s categories for primary school, junior high school, and senior high school. The events included 50m and 100m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 4x50m freestyle relay, 200m individual medley, and 4x50m mixed relay. Hong Kong Pui Ching won the team championships for both the secondary school and primary school categories while Macao Pui Ching won the alumni relay race.

The 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2024) was held from September 1 to September 8 in Alexandria, Egypt. Senior 2 students, Ng Hang Chi, Wong Chi In, and Lam Pak Hong, participated in the Macao Olympiad in Informatics (MOI 2024) earlier this year, where they achieved the top three scores and became representatives of Macao for the 2024 International Olympiad in Informatics.  They visited Egypt with their instructor from the Macao Computer Society and our teachers, Ms. Lam Sao Lan and Mr. Lam Kin Un.  Our students excelled in the competition, receiving one Bronze Medal and one Honorable Mention.  Congratulations to our award winners!

Student clinches gold in International Earth Science Olympiad2024-09-07

Senior 2 student Cheong U Hin represented Macao at the 2024 International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) held in Beijing and won a gold medal.

The International Earth Science Olympiad is an international competition for high school students worldwide. It covers various fields, including geology, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy.  It assesses participants' knowledge and practical skills in earth science through theoretical exams, field research, and teamwork.

U Hin expressed gratitude for the school's support and the guidance from his teachers.  He feels very proud to be a representative of Macao at the international event.

Students clinch world championship and fifth place in International Junior Botball Challenge2024-08-07

Ten of our students participated in the 2024 Global Conference on Educational Robotics (GCER) held in North Carolina from July 25-31. They won the world championship and ranked fifth in the International Junior Botball Challenge.  In the International Botball Challenge, they secured the seventh place and received the Judge’s Choice Award.

International Botball Challenge:

The International Botball Tournament is an educational robotics initiative derived from MIT robotics competitions.  The event requires students to solve practical engineering problems within a fixed timeframe and with limited resources.
