In the Next BMW Designer 2018, Senior 1 student Ms. Hoi I Sam won the championship with her PASSION in the Aged 13-15 Category. This year is the first year the competition is open to Macao schools. Ms. Hoi will be visiting the BMW factory in Germany in 2019. Her instructor is Mr. Ng Wing Kei.

Senior 1 student Mr. Chan Man Hei, Junior 3 student Mr. Sin Ka Chon, and Primary 5 student Mr. Chan Pak In came in among the top 10 places in the competition.

The 9^th National Youth Science Film Festival held its awards ceremony this morning in Changsha, Hunan. With their work Secrets of Garlic, Junior 3 students Mr. Ao Kam Kuan, Mr. Hong Kai Lam, and Mr. Lam Cheng Hon won the first prize and the “Science Kaleidoscope” Science Documentary Best Director Award. Their instructors were Ms. Wong Nga Fan and Ms. Kou Wing Si.

The Macao Judo Open Competition was held yesterday.  Pui Ching students won various awards:

Chan Tin Cheng—first runner-up in Boy’s Category B (31kg)

Lei Wa Lok—second runner-up in Boy’s Category C (35kg)

Chan Chi Seng—first runner-up in Boy’s Category C (31kg)

Un Chi Chon—champion in Boy’s Category B (40kg)

Lei In Chi—champion in Girl’s Category B (40kg)

Mai Wang Ioi—second runner-up in Boy’s Category C (40kg)

Ng Nok Hang—second runner-up in Boy’s Category B (35kg)

Lei Ian Sin—second runner-up in Boy’s Category B (27kg)

The first University of Macao Smart Programming Marathon was held by the University of Macao.  Contestants were required to develop applications with open data from the University.  Contestants from Pui Ching included Senior 3 student Mr. Fong Meng Iao, Senior 2 student Mr. Choi In Chong, Junior 3 student Mr. Pun Cheok In, Mr. Lei In Hei and Mr. Tang Hou Fong.  They competed against university students and won the Best Innovation Award.  They are also the only secondary school team to win an award in the competition.
