Pui Ching Middle School and the Macao Pui Ching Alumni Association held the Chinese New Year celebration at the Assembly Hall this evening.  Participants in the event included the teaching staff, former graduates of Pui Ching, representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association and the family of all.  President Wong Hon Kin of the Alumni Association, Vice-Principal Chan Keng Lim, and President Chiang Kuok Hong of the Teaching Staff Association extended their new year’s greetings and good wishes to all.

The 2018 Portugal Happy Spring Festival Gala was held on February 16 in Póvoa de Varzim.  The performance of the student artists received the acclaim of the general audience.

Ambassador Cai Run extended his gratitude to all performing groups, especially the Pui Ching Dance Team, whose secondary and primary school students gave up the opportunity to spend time with their family during Chinese New Year to bring everyone a heartfelt performance thousands of miles away from home.

22 students entered for the 2018 International Biomedical Quiz in Singapore and won a total of two Golds, 3 Silvers and 17 Bronzes in the Senior and Junior Category.  Ms. Chan Si Hang and Mr. Chan Kun Wang won the Gold Award; and Ms. Ieong Sin U, Ms. Koc I Fai, and Mr. Sun Cheng Hin won the Silver Award.  The theme this year was Geriatric Medicine.  The instructors of the award-winning students were Ms. Io Hio Fai, Ms. Leong Ieng Ieng, and Mr. U Kin Pong.

The awards ceremony for the 2016/2017 Excellent Teacher’s Award held by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau was held today.  Pui Ching teachers Mr. Li Chun and Ms. Fan Mei Va were conferred the honor.
