Pui Ching students excel in Youth Science Discovery Video Contest2021-01-24

The 2020 Hong Kong-New York International Youth Science Discovery Video Contest was held online this year.  The Chinese and English contest were respectively held on October 1st and 2nd, 2020.  Pui Ching students submitted four entries and all won awards in the contest.

Pui Ching produces five golds and one silver in Inter-School Volleyball Competitions2021-01-24

In the finals of the Women’s Category A Inter-School Volleyball Competition, Pui Ching Middle School outplayed Santa Rosa de Lima English Secondary School by 3:0, clinching its 13th consecutive championship in the competition.

 

In the finals for Men’s Category A, Pui Ching was outplayed by Instituto Salesiano by 1:3, coming in as the first runner-up.

 

In the Category A, B, and C competitions, Pui Ching won a total of five golds and one silver.

Pui Ching clinches nine golds on first day of Inter-School Swimming Competition2021-01-23

The 2020/2021 Inter-School Swimming Competition held its first day of competition this afternoon; the second day will take place next Saturday afternoon, January 30.  Over 90 student athletes from Pui Ching participated in the competition.

 

Pui Ching won a total of 9 golds, 12 silvers, and 8 bronzes on the first day of the competition.  Ms. Cheng Weng Chi even received three golds.  In the 200-meter individual medley, Ms. Cheng broke the record set 24 years ago; and in the 4x50-meter freestyle relay, she worked with Ms. Kuok Hei Cheng, Ms. Lei I Chi, and Ms. Kuong Sin Ian and rewrote the record created by her senior in Pui Ching 18 years ago.  Ms. Kuok Hei Cheng broke the record in the 100-meter freestyle competition.

Women’s Group A Basketball Team won championship again and Men’s Group A came in as first runner-up2021-01-22

The finals of the Inter-School Basketball Competition were held tonight.  The Pui Ching Women’s Group A Basketball Team won the championship by 49:39 from Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College.  The Pui Ching Men’s Group A Basketball Team lost to Pui Va Middle School by 63:69 and came in as the first runner-up.

Pui Ching students win world rankings in Global Mathematics Coding Competition 20212021-01-16

Countries and regions that entered for the preliminaries of Global Mathematics Coding Competition 2021 included Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, the Philippines and Vietnam.  The two contestants from Macao were the first contestants from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions to win world rankings in the competition.  Both were from Pui Ching Middle School: Primary 6A student Lao Hao Ieng won the second place in world ranking and Primary 5B student Mak Chon Hei won the third place in world ranking. 

 

The GMCC consists of the Senior High Category, Junior High Category, Primary 5 & 6 Category, and the Primary 3 & 4 Category.  The primary school categories involve both individual and group competitions.  After months of training with their instructors in preparation for the competition, student contestants from Pui Ching improved significantly in their coding abilities.  Attached is a list of our award winners.
