The 40^th ICBP Science Quiz was held in Singapore.  The competition covered five subjects—Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology.  11 Pui Ching students participated and won 11 awards including 4 Golds, 3 Silvers and 4 Bronzes:

Senior Category:

Gold Award: Chan Hoi Chi, Wong Ngou Chon, Ng Ka Chon (Senior 1)

Silver Award: Yeung Hor Chung (Senior 1), Jeremy Hu (Junior 3)

Bronze Award: Mo Ya Ting, Tong Kin Wai (Senior 1)

Junior Category:

Gold Award: Lao Sap Tou (Junior 2)

Silver Award: Leong Pok Kei (Junior 2)

Bronze Award: Leong Weng I, Yuen Hoi Man (Junior 2)

This was the first time Pui Ching students attended the competition in the Junior Category and the first time Junior students attended the competition in the Senior Category.  Many congratulations to our award-winning contestants!

Pui Ching students won five championships in the Inter-School Table Tennis Competition.  The award-winners are as follows:

Men’s Category A: Mak Tin Ian (S2C, 1^st Place)

Women’s Category A: Tao Chong (S4D, 1^st Place)

Men’s Category C: Sou Chun Hei (S1A, 1^st Place), Vong Iek Kan (S2E, 2^nd Place), Ng Hei In (S2D, 3^rd Place), Lam Chi Io (S2D, 5^th Place), Cheong Chon Hin (S1B, 6^th Place), Chu Chan Hou (S1C, 7^th Place)

Men’s Category D: Ieong Man Cheng (P6A, 5^th Place), Fok Chin Chong (P6D, 7^th Place)

Women’s Category D: Ian Cheok In (P5B, 2^nd Place), Wong Lok Io (P6B, 4^th Place)

Men’s Category E: Lei Tek long (P3D, 1^st Place), Wong Pak Weng (P4D, 3^rd Place), Kuong Chi U (P2D, 4^th Place), Chan Hin In (P4B, 5^th Place), Lam Keng Cheng (P4A, 6^th Place), Tang Ho Fong (P3A, 7^th Place)

Women’s Category E: Sou Tsz Ying (P4C, 1^st Place), Cheong Chi Hun (P3D, 2^nd Place), Lei Man In (P3A, 3^rd Place)

In the 27^th Inter-School Drama Competition, Pui Ching’s Team B won the Distinction Award with their stage play “Outside the Shop”, and Pui Ching’s Team A won the Merit Award with “My Way”.  The competition produced three Director’s Awards, one of which went to our Senior 2 student Ms. Lao Chi Cheng.  The Outstanding Actor’s Award went to Senior 1 student Ms. Lam Hio Kuan and Senior 3 student Chan Kuan Lam.

In the Primary Category, Primary 6 students Ms. Si Ian Wai and Ms. Wong Heng Sin, Primary 5 student Mr. Si Ian Meng, and Primary 4 students Ms. Cheang Hei Tong and Mr. Chan Long Hei won the Merit Award with their play “Love Cures Anger”.  Mr. Chan Long Hei also received the Outstanding Actor’s Award.

The Robofest 2018 Macao Regional Competition was held at Pui Ching Middle School yesterday.  Student contestants from Pui Ching worked under the supervision of their instructor Mr. Un Kuok Chin and performed brilliantly at the competition. 

In the Bottle Sumo Robot Wrestling Contest, Red and Blue Team F consisted of Junior High students Mr. Chong Keng Cheong, Mr. Wong Hou Cheng, and Mr. Chang Cheng Hei and won the championship in the Junior Category.  Red and Blue Team G consisted of Ms. Chu In In and Mr. Li Chan Weng and came in at the Fourth Place in the Junior Category. 

In the UMC Robotics Challenge, Red and Blue Team B consisted of Mr. Pang Tin Long and Mr. Lao Ka Haen and came in as the champion in the Junior Category.  Red and Blue Team C consisted of Mr. Qi Chan On, Mr. Wong Yin Long, and Mr. Lau Meng Hei and won the Third Place in the Junior Category.  Red and Blue Team A with Mr. Ieong Hoi Him and Mr. Ip Chon Kio came in at the Fourth Place in the Junior Category. 

In the RoboParade Innovative Robots Parade, the Red and Blue Team was comprised of Mr. Mak Hiu Wang, Mr. Ho Kuan Weng, Mr. Tang Chi Ian, Mr. Law On Ying, and Mr. Chang Chi Lok and clinched the championship in the Junior Category. 

Pui Ching was the only school in Macao to win the championship in all three contests.  Four of Pui Ching’s teams entered the finals and will be participating in the international competition in Detroit in mid-May.
