Pui Ching students awarded again at iENA Inventors' Trade Fair 2017-11-06

The 69th iENA Inventors’ Trade Fair was held from November 2nd to 5th in Nuremberg, Germany. As in the past two years, Pui Ching students again won various awards.
Primary 6 student Ms. Sou Ho U designed the Smart Fish Tank under the guidance of her teacher Mr. Un Kuok Chin and won the Gold Award. Junior 1 student Mr. Wong Tin Iao worked on the mobile phone app Hope For The Fluffy under the guidance of his teacher Mr. Sou Lok Tin and won the Silver Award. Primary 6 student Ms. Ieong Cheok Ing invented the Photosensitive Bookmark under the instruction of her teacher Mr. Kuok Chan Ip, winning the Bronze Award.
Student wins First Prize in VEX Robotics Engineering Challenge2017-11-06

The Pui Ching Rotobics Team took part in the 8th Asia Robotics Tournament China Regional Contest held in Zhuhai from November 2nd to 5th. Also at the contest were over 200 teams from various provinces, and Pui Ching contestants came through with the First Prize in the Junior Secondary Category, the Third Prize in the Senior Secondary Category, and the Best Performance Award in the Junior Secondary Category, the first such award won by Pui Ching contestants. Participation in the contest has proved to be an invaluable learning experience, and the students’ performance bore testimony to the success of STEM education over the years.
Students come in First, Second, Third Place in English Speaking Contest 2017-10-29

Pui Ching students participated in the English Speaking Contest today held by the Irish Consulate General and won the First, Second, and Third Place as well as the Most Popular Contestant Award in the Junior Category. Award-winning contestants included Mr. Lao Seong Hok (First Place), Mr. Kam Man Hin (Second Place and Most Popular Contestant Award), and Mr. Ao Kam Kuan (Third Place).
Students come in as champions in Traffic Safety Carnival Games Design2017-10-29

Student librarians participated in the 2017 Youth Traffic Safety Carnival Games Design Competition held by the Traffic Affairs Bureau, Public Security Police Bureau, Legal Affairs Bureau, and the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau. Pui Ching’s Team A took home the championship with its “Simulation City GoGoGo”. Pui Ching’s Team Traffic won the Merit Award with its “In the Palm of My Hand”.
Students clinch one silver and one bronze medal at International Olympiad in Informatics2017-08-03

The 29th International Olympiad in Informatics was held in Tehran, Iran from July 28th to August 4th. The event brought together contestants from over 80 countries and regions. Senior 3 students Mr. Hou Tin Chau, Mr. Kai Cheong Choi, and Mr. Cho Hou Tang were selected at the local preliminary competition as representatives of Macao. Mr. Hou Tin Chau won the silver medal and Mr. Cho Hou Tang won the bronze medal at the Olympiad. The 2017 Olympiad witnessed the most impressive performance to date from contestants of Macao.
The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an academic competition among high school students. The event was first proposed by Bulgarian professor Dr. Sendov at the 24th UNESCO congress in October of 1987. The first International Olympiad in Informatics was held in May of 1989 in Pravetz, Bulgaria. Subsequent Olympiads are held in different countries every year and have become an important academic competition in the international arena.
The IOI is held in two rounds. Contestants receive three topics in each round and are required to complete their analysis of the topics and finish programming or debugging tasks within five hours.
