ESL tour group visits church in U.S. over Christmas2017-01-04

Pui Ching secondary school students went on a two-week English-learning trip to New Life Church in Arkansas under the supervision of Pastor Hau Hung Au-Yeung from Dec 18, 2016 to Jan 1, 2017. Students stayed with Christian families, spent Christmas in local traditions, attended the Christmas Candlelight Service, went skiing, visited post-secondary institutions as well as museums and other well-known sites of attraction.  The trip not only helped students to improve their communication skills in English, but also broadened their horizons and gave them an opportunity to experience the Christian culture in the U.S..

In our Spreading Warmth at Christmas Program, secondary school students visited primary school and kindergarten classrooms this morning and celebrated Christmas together.  The school Christmas fair took place in the afternoon and this year’s theme was Our Country’s Aerospace Technology.  Various cultural performances added to the festivity.

The school flag-raising ceremony in celebration of the 17th anniversary of the founding of the Macao Special Administrative Region was held this morning.  Pastor Hau Hung Au-Yeung began the ceremony with prayers.  Principal Kam Fai Kou encouraged students to be concerned with social issues and reminded all of the Christian spirit that we come not to be served, but to serve others.

Pui Ching students scored above Singapore (the No. 1-ranking country) in the 2015 PISA in the areas of science, mathematics and reading.

In support of the Walk for Millions2016-12-11

In support of their community, parents, students and teachers made donations and joined the Walk for Millions, raising a total of $333,993.30 for the Community Chest.  Pui Ching’s principal, vice-principals, academic affairs director, administrative director, deputy director-general, president of the parent-teacher association, and president of the student association passed the donation onto the non-profit organization this afternoon.  During the Walk for Millions, students served as the flag bearers, and the school orchestra performed for the crowds.
