Graduation ceremony concludes in blessings of teachers and parents2024-06-01

The 2023-2024 high school graduation ceremony was held at 9:00am in the auditorium. A total of 254 students graduated. In the presence of directors from the Education and Youth Development Bureau, members of the school board, principals, teachers, and parents, the graduates concluded their high school journey, opening a new chapter in their lives.

 

School Chancellor Dr. Lo Weng Cheong delivered the opening speech, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and parents and congratulating the graduating students. For the 2023-2024 academic year, 116 graduates have been admitted to 49 higher education institutions in mainland China through the direct admission program, and an additional 84 students have received offers from various universities in Macao through direct admission; 61 of the students have been admitted to the University of Macao.

 

Internationally, our school has had students accepted into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for two consecutive years. At present, we have received over 40 offers of admission (confirmed or conditional) from universities within the top 50 of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, including institutions from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, among other countries. The number of admission offers is believed to be rising.

 

Deputy Director Un Pui In of theEducation and Youth Development Bureau, accompanied by Principal Kou Kam Fai, presented the high school diplomas. The guests of honor awarded various prizes and scholarships to outstanding graduates who had demonstrated exceptional performance in national and international competitions.

 

Faculty and retired staff members who have served in the school for ten years and onwards were also presented with commemorative medals and plaques. Among the recipients, Principal Kou Kam Fai and Vice-Principal Kuok Keng Man have served for a remarkable 40 and 45 years respectively.

 

As the ceremony drew to a close, Principal Kou delivered a vote of thanks to the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the faculty and staff members, as well as the parents in attendance for their continuous support. Lastly, the principal extended his best wishes to all the graduating students. The graduation ceremony concluded in the school anthem and the heartfelt blessings of teachers and parents.
