Macao Pui Ching Middle School and the Macao Pui Ching Alumni Association held a grand celebration at the Macao Fishermen’s Wharf on November 30 to commemorate the 135th anniversary of the founding of the school and the Alumni Day.  Close to 2,000 guests attended the event, including Dr. Ho Iat Seng, the Chief Executive of Macao, President Kou Hoi In of the Legislative Assembly, Director Li Xue Fei of the Education and Youth Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao, Director Gao Yuan of the News and Public Diplomacy Department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and Director Kong Chi Meng of the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau.  Other guests included representatives of alumni from around the world, representatives of the education sector, teachers, and students. 

During his speech, Principal Ko Kam Fai expressed that despite various challenges, the school has made remarkable progress over the years. Recently the school has been awarded the Medal of Merit for Education by the Macao S.A.R. government in recognition of its efforts and achievements in various areas of education.  In addition, Pui Ching has established a new campus in Coloane this academic year, currently serving over 400 students, with plans for gradual expansion. The success is also attributed to the continued investment of the government in education. Dr. Kou expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been supportive of the school’s development and pledged to continue fostering outstanding talents for Macao and the country.
