本校參加了於法國巴黎舉行的「國際基因工程機器」International Genetically Engineered Machine, Competition (iGEM 競賽)，在全球激烈的競爭中獲得銀奬。我們正將有關環保香薰(EcoEssence)的競賽項目申請專利，其在利用合成生物學改善現實生活問題方面的創新和紮實方法受到評審團的讚揚，並獲劍橋大學出版社編輯聯繫，邀請學生們提交有關創新成果的論文，在他們的刊物中發表，同時，我們亦期待著將成果商品化。

利用廢棄的花朵和橙皮作為原料，透過所研發的可持續生物工程系統，能夠更有效地生產香味更好的精油。其中氣味的酯類強度增加了 1.27 倍；且萃取量增加了80%。

We participated in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition held in Paris, France, and won a silver medal in the global competition. We are in the process of patenting our competition project on EcoEssence, which was praised by the judging panel for its innovative and solid approach to using synthetic biology to improve real-life problems. We have been approached by the editor of the Cambridge University Press to invite students to submit a paper of our innovative project to their journal. We also look forward to commercializing our product.
Our sustainable bio-engineering system, using discarded flowers and orange peels, can produce better scented essential oils more efficiently: the strength of the esters in the scent has increased by 1.27 times; and the extraction volume has increased by 80%!
