Students win group grand championship in Interschool Bowling Tournament 2021-04-11

The 13th Interschool Bowling Tournament concluded on April 11th. Pui Ching students came through with flying colors in the individual, doubles, group, and elite competition. Senior 2B student Fong Hong U won four golds and 1 silver. Pui Ching also received the group grand championship. Award winners are as follows:

Students win second place in 2nd Macao Joint School Science Exhibition2021-04-11

The 2nd Macao Joint School Science Exhibition was held at the Macao Science Center. 31 teams of secondary school students from Macao, Beijing and the Great Bay Area gathered to share their research outcomes. This year’s theme is “Forging ahead in our fight against the pandemic”. The exhibition aims to encourage students to use science to minimize the impact of the pandemic on our daily life and increase public interest in science and research. 23 of our students formed 8 teams this year and won the second place in both the Junior and Senior High Category. Award winners are as follows:

Pui Ching students win Macao regional championships in AI Programming Contest 2021-04-01

Pui Ching students participated in the Macao regional competition of the Artificial Intelligence Programming Contest hosted by HKITEC. This contest aims to increase student understanding of artificial intelligence and improve students’ creative and innovative abilities. After almost two months’ hard work, our contestants achieved outstanding results. Junior 1 students Lei Si In (S1A), Kuok Chi Ioi (S1A), and Lao Kin Nam (S1B) developed an app for the smart phone for seniors and won the Macao regional championship in the secondary school category. In the primary school category, Chan Seong Lai (P5B), Cheong Sio Fong (P5B), and Ng Iek Hin (P6A) developed an app for the smart phone for students, parents and schools and won the Macao regional championship in the primary school category. Two other teams won the gold award:

Pui Ching students excel in Macao Youth Innovations Challenge 2021-04-01

The rematch for the Macao Youth (Interschool) Innovations Challenge was held in the Macao Science Center from March 27 to 28. 68 entries were entered into the rematch this year. 19 of them were from Pui Ching. 36 Pui Ching students participated in the rematch.
This year’s competition was simultaneously open to the public for viewing. After students answered questions from the judges behind closed doors for three hours, 9 of our entries won the distinction award, 8 won the merit award, and 2 won the first prize, making Pui Ching the school with the greatest number of distinction awards and the greatest total number of awards in Macao.
Student wins highest award in Model G20 Virtual Summit2021-03-30

Secondary school students from dozens of countries and regions around the world entered for the 2021 Model G20 Virtual Summit. From among thousands of candidates, a total of 8 students from Pui Ching Middle School successfully became the final 400 senior high delegates. The theme of this year’s summit is Climate Change. Delegates were assigned to different teams at random, attended lectures given by Harvard and Yale professors, participated in three weeks of group discussions, literature review, document preparation and public lectures. In the process, our 8 contestants successfully overcame the time, language and cultural differences and finally, Ms. Lo Ka Ieng won the highest award as one of the Most Outstanding Delegates.
Pui Ching students who participated in the event included Lo Ka Ieng (S6D), Lao Chin Ut (S2E), Wu Chou I (S2E), Mak Chi Son (S3A), Chan Kuan Wai (S4D), Chan Cheng Tong (S4D), Lo Weng Ka (S5B), and Chong Pui Hei (S5B).
