The 36^th Inter-school Singing Competition hosted by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau was held on March 18^th and 19^th.  Pui Ching Middle School had one team of representatives in the secondary school category and two in the primary school category.  All three teams received Merit Awards.

Primary 5 student Mr. Hou Cheng Wong and Primary 6 student Mr. Chon Hou Ip received the Gold Award at the World Class Mathematics Tests and Elite Competition.

The awards ceremony for the 13^th Pan-Pearl River Delta Physics Olympiad cum China Famous Schools Invitational Comeptition (Macao Region) was held on March 17 at the University of Macao.  Pui Ching Middle School received the Group First Prize in the Comprehensive Category.  Individual students also won various awards in the Comprehensive Category: Mr. Hou Tin Chau (Senior 3) won the First Prize; Mr. Keng Tou Chu (Senior 2) and Mr. Kai Cheong Choi (Senior 3) won the Second Prize; Ms. Iat Cheng Lei (Senior 3), Mr. Fu Kuan Ian (Senior 3) and Mr. Pui In Ip (Senior 2) won the Third Prize.  In the Master the Basics Competition, Senior 1 student Ms. Si U Chan received the Third Prize.  Senior 1 students Mr. Jap Fai Sam, Mr. Keng Chit Lam and Mr. Shao Jie Wong received the Merit Award.

The 2016-2017 Hong Kong Regional Semi-Final of the FIRST Tech Challenge hosted by Semia Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was held on March 11 and 12 in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.  Pui Ching Middle School won the Second Place and the qualification to attend the FIRST Tech Challenge Open Competition in Australia in July.
