Communic Macao and Pui Ching Middle School held the unveiling ceremony for the Macao Campus Service Robot Education and Research Laboratory on September 18th

Principal Kam Fai Kou mentioned in his address the positive results of STEM and robotics education since 2012.  He extended his gratitude to Communic Macao for donating the service robot Nature’s Mystery to Pui Ching.  The establishment of the Campus Service Robot Education and Research Laboratory in response to the S.A.R. government’s promotion of education diversification and innovation is believed to have taken STEM education at Pui Ching to its new height.

The Macao Campus Service Robot Education and Research Laboratory in combination with the Campus Management System will launch services such as facial-recognition punch-ins and school patrol.  More services are to be incorporated into the current system in the future.  Students had the opportunity to interact with the locally made service robots after the ceremony and the interactive session became a highlight of the morning.  Communic Macao also shared with the students the classification of different robots, their functions and their rapid development in history.

Communic Macao is established by the Macao University of Science and Technology to promote the commercialization of research products.  It aims to mass produce service robots by combining the merits of domestic robots and robots abroad.  Pui Ching’s cooperation with Communic Macao is expected to further promote STEM education in Macao.
