The Macao S.A.R. Government held the 2023 Awards Ceremony for Individuals and Entities with Outstanding Achievements this afternoon at the Macao Cultural Center.  Macao Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng presented medals and certificates of merit to 28 individuals and entities in recognition of their outstanding personal achievements, contribution to society and service to Macao.  Pui Ching students Mok Hoi Fai and Lo Sio Sang were conferred the Certificate of Merit for their "Color Blindness Test Analyzer Based on Color Mixing Principles".  Our students Lao Lok Iao and Lam Iok Cheong also respectively received the Certificate of Merit.  Special thanks to Mr. Wu Chon Meng, Ms. Min Hao Nian, and Ms. Lam Sao Lan for providing guidance to our students.

The Central Registration for Children Entering Kindergarten for the First Time will be conducted between 5th - 16th January, 2024.

Macao Pui Ching Middle School held a flag-raising ceremony this morning to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Following the ceremony, Pastor Au Yeung led a prayer, expressing gratitude for the students' ability to resume normal learning activities in the past year and giving thanks for the prosperity of our country and the well-being of the residents of Macao.

Principal Kou mentioned in his speech that 2023 is a year full of grace. With the pandemic receding, many activities have returned to normal, and the budget of the S.A.R. government for 2024 recorded a small surplus. We are welcoming the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau S.A.R. in a time of joy. In the field of education, both the PISA scores in basic education and the rankings of local universities have shown excellent performance. These are the results of the joint efforts of both teachers and students.

Principal Kou stated that the coming year will be a year of celebration. Pui Ching Middle School's Coloane campus will officially open on September 1st, the school will celebrate its 135th anniversary, and there will be the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau S.A.R. as well as the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Finally, Dr. Kou expressed gratitude for the good weather and wished all the teachers and students good health and overflowing blessings.

Three high school students from our school, Ng Man Fong, Kuok Chi Ioi, and Kuong Hon Chon, set out on the evening of December 6th for Dubai for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28).

Through participation in the conference, our students gained an understanding of the positions of various countries on climate change and our country's efforts in addressing the issue. Students also developed a deeper understanding of the solutions to climate change.

During the conference, our three students presented the initial draft of their collection of works titled "My Zero-Carbon Citizen Initiative" to Mr. Xie Zhenhua, China's Special Envoy for Climate Affairs. They also engaged in discussions with the Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, sharing their life as students in Macao and their thoughts on sustainable development.
