Athletes come in as champions in 6 categories 2018-01-06

The 41st Inter-School Volleyball Competition held by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau concluded tonight.  Student athletes from Pui Ching came in as champions in 6 categories.

 

The athletes in the Category A finals won the championship from C.S.K. Perpetual Help College by a margin of 3 to 0, making the Pui Ching Volleyball Team the champion for the 10th consecutive year.  In the Men's Category A finals, the student athletes clinched the championship from Instituto Salesiano by a margin of 3 to 1.

The 2017 Continuing Education Writing Competition held by the Macao Continuing Education Association and sponsored by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau had its awards ceremony today. 

 

Pui Ching students won 4 out of the 6 awards available at the competition.  Award-winning students included Ms. Fan Chu Chan from Senior 1 who won the championship, Ms. Tou Chong from Senior 1 who came in as the second runner-up, and Mr. Ho Kit San from Senior 1 and Ms. Ieong Wing Ian from Senior 2, both of whom received the Merit Award.

Teachers and students win high praise at Innovative Schools Forum2018-01-05

The 13th National Innovative Schools cum Intellectual Property Innovative Education Forum was held from Dec 22nd to 24th in Beijing.  Attendees included principals and teacher representatives of various Innovative Schools in the nation.  The participants engaged in discussions of the hot-button topics in education today.

 

The National Smart Engineering Research Committee gave recognition to schools, school administrators and teacher representatives who have made significant contributions to Innovative Technology Education and Smart Education.  Pui Ching Middle School was conferred such titles as “Innovative School of the Nation”, “School of Innovative Education”, “Smart Intellectual Property Experimental School”, and “Member of the Innovative School League of the Nation”.  Vice-Principal Kuok Keng Man was conferred the title “Innovative Principal of the Nation”.  Innovative Technology Director Ms. Lao Kun Wa was conferred the title “School Intellectual Property Specialist”, Ms. Man Hou Nin the title “Innovative Teacher of the Nation”, Mr. Un Kuok Chin the title “Innovative Inventions Instructor”, and Ms. Chan Sio Ting the title “Innovative Subject Teacher” while Ms. Lam Ieon Mei received the Innovative Contributions Award.  In addition, 21 students from Pui Ching were recognized as “Innovative Students of the Nation”.

 

This year’s forum is one in which Macau teachers and students received the greatest number of awards.  It is hoped that Pui Ching will continue to produce talents in science and technology in its effort to promote science education.

Pui Ching performs in 2018 Children’s Spring Festival Gala2018-01-02

The Pui Ching Dance Team staged The Galloping Pony in the 37th Inter-School Dance Competition held by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and clinched the Distinction Award and Creativity Award.  The piece also won the team the Golden Eagle Award in the 3rd Prairie Children’s Ethnic Dance Art Festival.  The Galloping Pony was the only dance piece from Macao to qualify for entry into the 2018 Children’s Spring Festival Gala.  Dance teams that entered for the audition came from 12 countries and regions including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Portugal, Australia, Japan, etc.  Among the contestants, 50 schools, non-profit organizations, commercial organizations, and individual participants from Hong Kong and Macau vied for the opportunity to perform in the Spring Festival Gala.

 

The Pui Ching Dance Team attended the filming for the Gala with China Central Television between December 29, 2017 and January 1, 2018.  The hard work and professionalism of the student artists received much acclaim from the director, and every member of the dance crew was conferred the Excellent Performance Award by the filming committee.  Pui Ching Middle School also received the Best Training Facility Award.  The 2018 Children’s Spring Festival Gala will be aired during the Spring Festival on the CCTV Animation Channel, Central Digital Entertainment, and China Network Television.

Pui Ching becomes sister schools with two primary schools in Jiangsu Province 2017-12-21

Vice-principal Kuok Keng Man and student Ms. Fung Cheok Lam attended the Macao Youth Jiangsu Cultural Tour upon invitation.  The group took part in the opening ceremony for the Jiangsu-Macao Children’s Artwork Exhibition and Ms. Fung introduced her work to the guests at the exhibition. 

 

In addition, the group visited the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall, Yunjin Museum, China Gate of the City Wall, among other attractions.  The students later engaged in exchange activities with students of Wujin Experimental School of Changzhou and Jinling Primary School of Nanjing.  Pui Ching became sister schools with the two local schools on Dec 19th and 20th respectively.
