The opening ceremony of the 48^th Track and Field Sports Meet was held this afternoon.  After the flag-raising ceremony, President Wong Hon Kin of the Macao Pui Ching Alumni Association announced the opening of the Sports Meet.

On the first day, Senior 2D student Ms. Wong Hio Iok broke the record in shot put with a score of 8.68 meters. 

As usual, student participation was high in this year’s sports meet.  Not only the athletes showcased their talents on the sports field, but many students also worked as volunteers in various posts.  Pui Ching has launched a mobile webpage for the sports meet that allows teachers and students to receive the latest updates on contest results, photo albums, sports meet trivia, event schedules and reviews from last year.  A Facebook page was also launched this year.  It shows different event times, allowing teachers and students to fully engage in various sports activities.

The sports meet lasted for three days.  Guests from different walks of life were invited to experience the excitement at the stadium.
