Our Students Won Global 2nd Place at the 2026 International SeaPerch Challenge.

From May 30 to 31, 2026, the 2026 International SeaPerch Challenge was successfully held at the University of Maryland, USA. Hosted by RoboNation, this event is a premier global underwater robotics competition. This year, the challenge attracted 210 elite student teams from around the world to dive into the competition. Participating countries included the United States, China, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Kenya, and Puerto Rico. Macau Pui Ching Middle School recently sent two teams, comprising a total of nine students, to the United States to compete fiercely against top-tier talents from across the globe.

This competition comprehensively evaluates students' engineering thinking, interdisciplinary literacy, and teamwork capabilities. The scoring consists of multiple components, including the Obstacle Course, the Mission Course, the Technical Design Report, and the Team Presentation. Amidst fierce competition against 210 top teams worldwide, our students achieved a major historical breakthrough, relying on their solid STEM foundations and exceptional team synergy.

In this year's challenge, our school's teams made historic strides. Through their exceptional operational prowess and strong mental fortitude, Team DeltaX captured 2nd Place Overall Globally in the Middle School division, while also securing 3rd Place in the Mission Course. Among all participating teams from China, Team DeltaX achieved the most outstanding results, and they also ranked first among all participating Asian teams, delivering a truly stellar performance. Simultaneously, Team DeltaY also gave it their all. Standing out in the intense competition among the 210 elite teams, they successfully secured an impressive 16th Place Overall Globally in the Middle School division. The achievements of both Pui Ching teams have shattered our school's previous highest records in this competition, writing a brilliant new chapter in the history of our school's STEM and innovation education.

Traveling to the U.S. and bringing home the global 2nd place title is a testament to our school's long-term dedication to promoting science, innovation, and STEAM education. Our school has always been committed to building diverse technological learning platforms for our students, encouraging them to step beyond Macau and onto the international stage. We take great pride in the “Pui Ching Spirit” our students showcased at this international competition. Looking ahead, we hope all our students will maintain their enthusiasm for scientific exploration and remain bold in their pursuit of innovation.
