Teachers and Students of Our School Participate in the "Tiangong Class" Together in Hong Kong and Macao2026-09-09
The "Tiangong Class" Hong Kong and Macao Designated Session was held this morning (September 9). The Shenzhou-23 astronauts personally served as "space teachers"—including Hong Kong's first astronaut Dr Lai Ka-ying—to introduce the space station's facilities and equipment to Hong Kong and Macao students, share their daily lives, give live demonstrations of science experiments, and engage in a "dialogue between space and Earth".
Sharing the same roots and a united heart, the Hong Kong and Macao SARs celebrated this event together. Organised by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, teacher and student representatives from our school attended the live broadcast venue in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, over 3,000 teachers and students from our two school sections watched the live broadcast simultaneously in the school hall and classrooms, participating in this historic moment together. The students watched the "Tiangong Class" attentively and were particularly interested in the water sphere table tennis experiment and the astronauts' physical exercises. Furthermore, when the astronauts mentioned receiving letters from Hong Kong and Macao students, the students from our school who had written to them were deeply moved.
During the event, our primary and secondary school students were interviewed on-site by Hong Kong media. They considered this a rare learning opportunity and demonstrated a strong passion for science and a great thirst for knowledge.
