The 2023 Guangzhou Gomoku Open Competition came to a close on August 20.  The competition attracted skilled players from various cities such as Shenzhen, Foshan, Jiangmen, Hong Kong, and Macao.  Among the contestants were former bronze medalists in world championships and winners of the top three places in national competitions.  Secondary 2A student Ng Cheng Hei emerged as the champion in the youth category with a perfect record of seven wins.  Meanwhile, Secondary 2E student Lei Un Hou secured the second place.

Pui Ching students participated in the 2023 World GreenMech Contest and came through with flying colors.

Three of our Secondary 1 students formed a team to participate in the World GreenMech Contest held in Tainan this year on August 3.  The contest gave our students an opportunity to apply knowledge they have learned in STEAM subjects (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics).  The student team excelled among the 128 contesting teams and won the Overseas Educational Contribution Award. 

Our award winners were Secondary 1F student Fong Chon Wai and Secondary 1D students Lei Hin Wang and Wong Hio Kei.  Their instructors were Mr. Ho Seng Kuan and Mr. Tin Peng.

Pui Ching students represented Macao in the 19th International Geography Olympiad and came through with flying colors. The competition was organized by the International Geographical Union and took place in early August in Bandung, Indonesia.

Senior 3 students Kong Ka Un and Wong Mei Lai represented Pui Ching in the Geography Olympiad. Both students performed exceptionally well, and Ms. Kong won a bronze medal for her outstanding overall performance. This marks the best result achieved by the Macao team in recent years in the International Geography Olympiad.

The International European Music Competition 2023 took place on August 9th at St. Albertus Magnus Catholic Church in Germany. Music students from around the world competed in the preliminary competition in their respective countries and regions before qualifying for the finals in Germany.  After careful review by the experts, Pui Ching Primary 6 student Chan Chi Him won the championship in the String Instruments Primary School Category with his performance of Mozart's "Allegro di Molto Sonata in A K.305 Movt.1." Pui Ching Primary 3 student Chan Chi Long won the championship in the Piano Primary School Category with his performance of Miho Abe's "Challenging."  Chi Long is also among the top ten highest-scoring champions in the competition.  Congratulations to our award winners!
