Pui Ching raises MOP$700,000 for Henan Province2021-07-23

In response to the flood in Henan Province, Pui Ching donated to the disaster-stricken district the MOP$700,000 which it raised earlier this month through the English charity musical put forth by the Pui Ching Wind Orchestra and our primary school students.

 

Principal Kou and 24 teacher and student representatives visited the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R. this afternoon to donate the fund and were received by Deputy Director Yan Zhi Chan. 

 

Pui Ching has been holding fundraising events since 2013.  To date, we have donated to various organizations and regions, including the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Valley of Blessings Charity Association of Portugal, Yingde City of Guangdong Province, Gansu Province, and Africa.  We hope to instill in our students social responsibility and a sense of local and global identity. 

Junior High Graduation Ceremony concludes in school anthem2021-07-12

In accordance with regulations of the Health Bureau, the Pui Ching Junior High Graduation Ceremony was held in two sessions at 9:30am and 3:00pm on July 12 in the school assembly hall.  A total of 256 students graduated.  Principals, directors, teachers, and parents together bore witness to this precious moment.

 

Principal Kou expressed that 2020 was a year of challenges and blessings.  Thanks to the support of the government and the school management, we faced the pandemic together.  Principal Kou told the graduates about the school’s ten years of curriculum reform dedicated to providing diversified and personalized education to all.  He applauded the graduates for their many accomplishments in international competitions and encouraged them to face up to every challenge in their future studies. 

 

Principal Kou mentioned that in senior high, students will be open to diverse courses and activities and have the opportunity to visit universities and different organizations.  Students will also have the chance to develop their financial skills, explore history, apply artificial intelligence to real life problems, and apply 5G networks to their learning.

 

Subsequently, Principal Kou presented the graduation certificate to the junior high graduates.  The officiating guests presented awards and scholarships to the outstanding graduates and graduates who had outstanding achievements in national and international competitions. 

 

S3D student Fong Hoi Io and S3B student Leong Cheng Long respectively gave their graduation speech as the valedictorian in the morning and afternoon session of the graduation ceremony.  They extended their gratitude to the government, different sectors of society, teachers, parents, and their classmates for their support. 

 

The graduation ceremony concluded in the school anthem and the blessings of Pastor Au Yeung.

Opening ceremony for “Fun with Block Printing” Exhibition held in Tap Seac2021-07-08

Held by Macau Pui Ching Middle School and sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the “Fun with Block Printing” Exhibition had its opening ceremony in Tap Seac Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall. 

 

Vice-Principal Kuok Keng Man mentioned in his speech that Pui Ching has always embraced the six intelligences as its educational goals, including moral intelligence, academic intelligence, kinesthetic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, aesthetic intelligence, and spiritual intelligence.  Through various extra-curricular activities and educational exchange activities, the school provides different platforms for students to develop their talents.  Vice-Principal Kuok hopes that students can broaden their horizons and express their creative talent through the exhibition.  Director Wong Man I of the Department of Visual Arts encouraged the students to pursue their passion and let the seed of art grow in their heart.

 

The “Fun with Block Printing” Exhibition featured water-based woodblock prints, screen prints, thread-bound books, and silk screen printing on cloth bags.  The exhibition is open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm until July 18.  It is closed on Mondays.  Entry is free of charge.  All are welcome.

Primary school graduation ceremony concludes in school anthem2021-07-06

The 2020/2021 Pui Ching Primary School graduation ceremony was held in two sessions at 9:30am and 3:00pm respectively on July 6 in our school assembly hall.  A total of 209 primary school students graduated this year.  Principals, directors, teachers, and parents witnessed this precious moment together.

 

Principal Kou congratulated the students and encouraged them to keep up with their good work.  2020 and 2021 have witnessed the world’s biggest pandemic, which reminds us that life is constantly changing.  Faced with the many uncertainties and challenges of life, Principal Kou expressed hope that graduates would keep pushing ahead, keep their face to the sunshine, observe the teaching of Christ, serve their country, and become blessings in the lives of others.

 

Principal Kou presented the primary school graduation certificate to the graduates.  The officiating guests presented the awards and scholarships to outstanding graduates and graduates who excelled in national and international competitions.  Principal Kou and Vice-Principal Kuok also presented long-service awards to teaching and non-teaching staff.

 

Primary 6D student Ng Weng Sam and Primary 6B student Lei Weng Chon were the valedictorians for the morning and afternoon session of the graduation ceremony.  They thanked the school, teachers, and parents for their love, support and guidance.  The graduation ceremony concluded in the school anthem and the blessings of the loved ones of the graduates.

Pui Ching Symphonic Band and primary students present Annie Junior in charity event2021-07-04

The Pui Ching Symphonic Band and our primary school students together presented the children’s musical, Annie Junior, in a charity event on July 4 in the school assembly hall.  The event aimed to fundraise for those in need in Macao and the mainland and to remind students of their social responsibilities.  The musical attracted 400 audience members, raising over MOP$700,000.

 

Principal Kou thanked the public, members of the school’s board of directors, alumni, parents, and students for their support.  Pui Ching has always encouraged students to contribute to  charity events.  Since 2013, students have raised funds for the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, Wen Ce Primary School, Watoto Asia, Valley of Blessings Charity Association (Portugal) and underprivileged regions of Gansu Province.

 

Annie Junior is an adaptation of the Broadway musical Annie.  It is about how Annie the orphan has never given up hope and faith even in the most difficult situations and finally finds her biological parents.  The musical portrays the invaluable spirit of perseverance.
