Unmanned Cruise wins Merit Award2018-01-31
The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau held the 2016/2017 Excellent Students Awards Ceremony today. Pui Ching’s Unmanned Cruise Team won the Third Prize in the Environment Category in the 2017 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair and was awarded the Special Award by the China Science and Technology Association. Award-winning student Mr. Leong Chon Hou accepted recognitions for his team at the awards ceremony and shared their experience in the competition.
Former counselor to Chief Executive Office shares on topic of Great Bay Area2018-01-28

Pui Ching holds its annual Brainstorming Session today on school affairs and its direction of future development. We had the pleasure of the company of Chief Executive Office former Counselor Mr. Kou Chin Hong in Part I of the Brainstorming Session where he shared on the topic of “the Great Bay Area and the development of Macao S.A.R.”. Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao each has its advantages in the Great Bay Area. Mr. Kou expounded on the opportunities that come with the development of the Area, their relationship with our youths today, and the challenges they pose for education.
Teachers of the school engaged in a discussion after the session on the relationship between the Great Bay Area and education, the school’s situation and its future development.
Sharing session on 10-Year School Development Scheme2018-01-27

The Education Development Foundation hosted a sharing session on the 10-Year School Development Scheme. Pui Ching students sang the Portuguese song “Ray-Dee-Oh” at the opening ceremony. Pui Ching showcased its teaching outcomes in innovation, science and technology in the sharing session, including its work on the FTC robotics platform and the school’s new ARVR curriculum where participating students engage in UNITY program development for half of the school year. The sharing session will continue tomorrow from 10am to 5pm. All are welcome.
Pui Ching students receive government decoration2018-01-19

Congratulations to our student Mr. Chau Hou Tin and his teammates who entered for the International Science and Engineering Fair 2017 and received the Macao S.A.R. government decoration, the Honorary Title of Value.
Student participants in the International Science and Engineering Fair 2017 worked under the supervision of Innovation and Technology Director Mr. Lao Kun Wa. The team involved 10 members, including 2017 graduate Mr. Ho Chon Hin, Senior 3 student Mr. Leong Chon Hou, and Senior 1 student Mr. Ho Man Chon. The team studied unmanned cruise construction, water quality monitor, water resources, and the sources, causes and solutions of water contamination. The team entered for the competition with its Smart Pleco Multi-Function Water Quality Conservation Unmanned Cruise and won the Third Prize in the Environmental Engineering Category and the Special Award “China Science Association President’s Award”.
Mr. Chau Ho Tin was a graduate from Pui Ching in 2017. He won the 2015/2016 Excellent Student’s Award from the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and represented Macao in various competitions during his time as a student. He joined the 2016 International Mathematics Olympiad in Hong Kong and the 2017 International Mathematics Olympiad in Brazil and reaped the gold medal both times. He also won the First Place in the 2016 Havard—MIT Mathematics Competition. Mr. Chau’s performance represented many firsts in Macau’s award winning history. His later performance in the 2017 International Informatics Olympiad in Iran also won him the silver medal. Mr. Chau is currently studying Mathematics at Cambridge University.
Teachers and students win high praise at Innovative Schools Forum2018-01-05
The 13th National Innovative Schools cum Intellectual Property Innovative Education Forum was held from Dec 22nd to 24th in Beijing. Attendees included principals and teacher representatives of various Innovative Schools in the nation. The participants engaged in discussions of the hot-button topics in education today.
The National Smart Engineering Research Committee gave recognition to schools, school administrators and teacher representatives who have made significant contributions to Innovative Technology Education and Smart Education. Pui Ching Middle School was conferred such titles as “Innovative School of the Nation”, “School of Innovative Education”, “Smart Intellectual Property Experimental School”, and “Member of the Innovative School League of the Nation”. Vice-Principal Kuok Keng Man was conferred the title “Innovative Principal of the Nation”. Innovative Technology Director Ms. Lao Kun Wa was conferred the title “School Intellectual Property Specialist”, Ms. Man Hou Nin the title “Innovative Teacher of the Nation”, Mr. Un Kuok Chin the title “Innovative Inventions Instructor”, and Ms. Chan Sio Ting the title “Innovative Subject Teacher” while Ms. Lam Ieon Mei received the Innovative Contributions Award. In addition, 21 students from Pui Ching were recognized as “Innovative Students of the Nation”.
This year’s forum is one in which Macau teachers and students received the greatest number of awards. It is hoped that Pui Ching will continue to produce talents in science and technology in its effort to promote science education.
