Secondary school graduation ceremony concludes academic year2018-06-01

The Pui Ching 2017 Secondary School Graduation Ceremony was held at 10:30am today at the school assembly hall.  Officiating guests included the director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, chancellors of Pui Ching Middle School, President of the Macao Pui Ching Alumni Association, members of the Pui Ching board of trustees, Principal of Guangzhou Pui Ching Middle School, and President of the Guanghou Pui Ching Alumni Association. 

 

Chancellor of Pui Ching Mr. Lo Wing Cheong addressed the audience and extended his congratulations and gratitude to the parents and guests. 

 

Mr. Lo also congratulated the students on their outstanding performance.  For years, the university acceptance rate of Pui Ching students has remained at 100%。  This year, 76 graduates were exempted from the university entrance exam and accepted by universities in the Mainland.  A total of 25 students received admission offers from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fudan University.  36 students received admission offers and scholarship from the University of Macao through the Principal’s Recommendation Admission Program.  Mr. Lo also commended the students on their active participation in extra-curricular activities and their excellent performance in sports, the arts, and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.  In sports, Pui Ching students won the championship in six categories in the Inter-School Volleyball Competition.  In the Inter-School Fencing Competition, Pui Ching students won group championships in ten categories and 45 individual medals.  In arts, the Pui Ching Dance Team was again invited by the Consulate of Portugal to perform in Portugal.  133 students in total won the Pui Ching’s Light Award, and 27 Senior 3 students in total won the Outstanding Performance in Extra-Curricular Activities Award.  Pui Ching teachers also excelled in the Instructional Design Award Scheme.  Pui Ching featured the greatest number of award winners under the scheme among all schools in Macao. 

 

Together with Principal Kou Kam Fai, Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau Mr. Lou Pak Sang presented the graduates with their graduation certificates.  Other officiating guests presented various outstanding graduates with awards and scholarships for their exceptional performance in national or international competitions.  Last but not least, the school presented various teachers with the Long-Term Service Award and the Retirement Award.
