Pui Ching Symphonic Band and primary students present Annie Junior in charity event2021-07-04
The Pui Ching Symphonic Band and our primary school students together presented the children’s musical, Annie Junior, in a charity event on July 4 in the school assembly hall. The event aimed to fundraise for those in need in Macao and the mainland and to remind students of their social responsibilities. The musical attracted 400 audience members, raising over MOP$700,000.
Principal Kou thanked the public, members of the school’s board of directors, alumni, parents, and students for their support. Pui Ching has always encouraged students to contribute to charity events. Since 2013, students have raised funds for the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, Wen Ce Primary School, Watoto Asia, Valley of Blessings Charity Association (Portugal) and underprivileged regions of Gansu Province.
Annie Junior is an adaptation of the Broadway musical Annie. It is about how Annie the orphan has never given up hope and faith even in the most difficult situations and finally finds her biological parents. The musical portrays the invaluable spirit of perseverance.
