The finals of the Interschool Table Tennis Competition were held from March 20 to 21.  Our student athletes won five championships: Sou Chon Hei (Men’s Category B), Cheong Sio Fong (Men’s Category D), Lei Chon Long (Men’s Category E), Lei Guai Wai (Women’s Category C), and Cheong Chi Hun (Women’s Category D).  Other award-winners are as follows:

Pui Ching Middle School entered two entries for the Taiwan International Science Fair, which consisted of 13 categories including Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Earth and Environmental Science, Biochemistry, etc.  Senior 2 students Sin Ka Chon and Mok Chi Kin and Junior 2 student Lao Chit won the first prize, the first place in the Engineering Category, the first place in the Non-Local Contestants Category, and the highest award, “The Youth Science Award”.  Their invention was the Multifunctional Intelligent Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, which aimed to perform search-and-rescue missions in the event of extreme weather conditions.  Senior 2 student Lei In Hei won the third prize in the Computer Category.  His invention was the “Deep Learning-Based Home Safety Perception System for Household Service Robots”.  The many awards won at the competition demonstrated the results of STEM education in recent years.  The instructors to the award winners included Mr. Lao Kun Wa, Mr. Leong Chong Man and Mr. Lam Kin Un.

The 44^th Interschool Track and Field Competition was held at the Olympic Sports Center from March 5^th to 7^th.  Award winners are as follows:

Fourth place in Women’s High Jump (Category A): Lam Pek I (1.43 meters)

Second place in Women’s 200-meter race (Category A): Leng Ho I (28”31 seconds)

Second place in Women’s 100-meter race (Category A): Leng Ho I (13”59 seconds)

Championship in Women’s High Jump (Category B): Lei Pui In (1.47 meters)

Second place in Women’s High Jump (Category B): Tam Hio I (1.44 meters)

Third place in Women’s Javelin (Category B): In U In (17.93 meters)

Fourth place in Women’s Softball (Category E): Chan Seng Ian (22.45 meters)

Championship in Men’s 4x50-meter race (Category D): Tsang Chi In, Cheng Chit, Lam Pak In, Ng Ik Hin, Si Hoi Chon, Leong Cheng Wang (28”7 seconds)

Third place in Men’s 60-meter final (Category D): Tsang Chi In (8”50 seconds)

The Noob’s Hackathon (of the UMCTF Competition) was held by the Macau Cyber Security and Capture The Flag Association (MOCTF), the University of Macau Computer Society, and the University of Macau Student Union.  Eight secondary school students from Pui Ching participated in the competition with their Information Technology teachers Mr. Lou Seng Sang and Mr. Wong Chan Lam. 

The students entered for the competition in two teams.  Team PCMS01 (including Choi Tin Chi, U Seng Hin, Chan Peng Meng and Chong Io Chong) participated in the team competition at the University of Macau.  Team PCMS02 (including Chan Cheng Leong, Tang Hou Fong, Ngan Chon Wai and Ip Chon Hou) participated in the online individual competition at school. 

After 7 hours of competition, Team PCMS01 won the championship in the university student category.  In the individual competition for Team PCMS02, Ngan Chon Wai won the first place in the open category; Ip Chon Hou, Tang Hou Fong and Chan Cheng Leong respectively won the second place, fourth place and twelfth place.  Congratulations to our award winners!
